Rush Week - Spring 2010!
Posted January 21, 2010, 04:12:55 PM by Andrew Alden
Hello all, and welcome back from break!
It's that time again, Rush Week of Spring 2010 is upon us. See the giant ad above for information on the info table locations and where our events will be held. Any of these events are a great way to see what our chapter is about, meet some current brothers, and have a great time!
We're always happy to see new members interested in joining the best business fraternity Ball State has to offer, so come out and have some food or play a game with us, and we'll show you what it means to be an Upsilon Chi AKPsi brother.
Remember to check out our Why Rush AKPsi? and FAQ's pages for more information on what our fraternity has to offer!

Welcome Back
Hello again brothers,
I'd like to take a moment to welcome you back to the chapter's website. You're going to start seeing some changes here. Fun ones. Convenient ones. It's obvious that although we poured a lot of time and money into this site, it never quite evolved into what it was originally planned to be - a central communication hub for the chapter.
I am to blame for this as much as anyone else.. life does have a way of interrupting personal projects.. and being across the country hasn't helped with staying in touch with the chapter.
Time for Change
Whatever the reasons, the website is not what it should be. One of you recently realized this, and I want to commend brother Eric Ball for reaching out to me recently in an effort to complete this project. He expressed that he wants the site to be exactly what it was intended to be - an integral part of the chapter's day-to-day operations. We've discussed some goals, and will be setting deadlines for those goals. Here are a few, in no particular order:
Know No Bounds
These are hefty goals which will be difficult to reach alone. The website team (and your chapter) will need your help to get the chapter back on top. I want this to be a project with no bounds.
We need help. If you have friends that know a thing or two about web development, bring them in on this project. If you or they are handy in photoshop, even if you're willing to spend some time flushing the site out with content and pictures describing our chapter... PLEASE e-mail me at reanimationxp@gmail.com, or speak to Eric Ball. Recruitment is 365 guys, and you don't have to be rushing to have exposure to our chapter. If you or a friend could help, talk to us. Bring them in and let them see what our chapter's about. It's up to you to grow your brotherhood.

- A Document Manager
This will allow us to post documents on the site for all to read, including the minutes each week. This will have unforseen benefits, such as the ability to approve last week's minutes online. - An Online Point System Tracker
This has been needed every since the point system was created. A way to keep track of your current points and standing. - An RSVP Tool
A way to send out invites to potential guests for events, and allow them to confirm their attendance. - A Mailing List Tool
An online tool to manage who is currently an active brother, maintain Alumni contact information, and provide an easy way to send email to each group of people.

Website is Back

Hey All,
Hello from Arizona! Some of you may have seen that the site went down for a week or so recently. Our domain wasn't successfully transferred over to the new host until now, and there was a problem during the transfer. I managed to clear it all up though, and now all of our services now reside on a single host.
Stay tuned for changes in the next month. Although I'm Alumni now (yay), I will be working with the chapter's Web Committee to start bringing features of the site online and make this the central communication hub it was designed to be.
Take care in Indy over the holiday season brothers... Brother Reitz and I both miss our chapter and will be in town over the holidays, so give us a buzz!

Forum Upgrade!
Posted March 19, 2008, 11:21:21 AM by Andrew Alden
Hello again all,
I recently did an upgrade to the forum which will allow for WYSIWYG (What You See is What You Get) posting. What this means is that when you reply to a topic and want to use any formatting, such as bold or underline, it will show up as you're typing like it does in Microsoft Word. This prevents you from having to type something like [ b ] to bold a word.
This upgrade will help out with anyone who's a novice poster, but also managed to break a couple things in the process, including our skin.
I'm currently working to correct that and a few other small issues, but for the most part the forum upgrade was a success.
