Website is Back
Posted November 23, 2008, 02:45:11 PM by Andrew Alden
Hey All,
Hello from Arizona! Some of you may have seen that the site went down for a week or so recently. Our domain wasn't successfully transferred over to the new host until now, and there was a problem during the transfer. I managed to clear it all up though, and now all of our services now reside on a single host.
Stay tuned for changes in the next month. Although I'm Alumni now (yay), I will be working with the chapter's Web Committee to start bringing features of the site online and make this the central communication hub it was designed to be.
Take care in Indy over the holiday season brothers... Brother Reitz and I both miss our chapter and will be in town over the holidays, so give us a buzz!

Forum Issues
Posted June 02, 2008, 11:29:41 PM by Andrew Alden
As some of you may have noticed, the forum has been having some problems lately. The upgrade to 2.0 produced some funny results when posting certain combinations of text, producing Server 500 errors. This usually occurred when modifying a post.
Also, first-time views of a page, such as the index of forums, seems to be taking a very long time for the server to generate. You can view this at the bottom of the page, where it says "Page created in 38 seconds with 8 queries" or a similar message. Typical page generation times should be under 1 second, and I am currently working to correct this problem. If you are experiencing it or any other problems with the forum, please post them as replies to this article so I can investigate further. Be sure to include any error messages you get.
Thanks guys!

Forum Upgrade!
Posted March 19, 2008, 11:21:21 AM by Andrew Alden
Hello again all,
I recently did an upgrade to the forum which will allow for WYSIWYG (What You See is What You Get) posting. What this means is that when you reply to a topic and want to use any formatting, such as bold or underline, it will show up as you're typing like it does in Microsoft Word. This prevents you from having to type something like [ b ] to bold a word.
This upgrade will help out with anyone who's a novice poster, but also managed to break a couple things in the process, including our skin.
I'm currently working to correct that and a few other small issues, but for the most part the forum upgrade was a success.

Upsilon Chi Calendar
Posted February 13, 2008, 01:04:42 PM by Josh Reitz
As you can see, the calendar is up and running. Eventually we would like for brothers to be able to update it and plug in events whenever they need to, but for now, if you have any events or event details that need to be updated, feel free to email them to Josh Reitz.

Any questions or comments, just direct them towards the web committee. Thanks!

[Update]
As an additional note, the Events page is now up, and a Full View link has been added to the mini-calendar. On the full view, you may flip between Agenda, Month, and Week views, and even add the AKPsi calendar to your personal Google calendar. Enjoy!- Andrew Alden
